In the process of putting a net-lite on by holly bush, I discovered a great way to stretch it out was to put it on the Strom. I almost left it there. Hmmm... it's giving me a few ideas.

Crabapple Tree Needs A Killin'

Oh, yeah... I said it. The tree has gotta go.
Back in 2004, I had to fix my fence. This is what the tree looked like:Awesome in the spring:

Crabapples are a fire-ant delicacy, though.
The root ball broke in the shallow soil - now it's laying on the ground:

This little electric chainsaw ought to get the work done:

Here I go:

Nice and clean. Ready for next spring.
The pine trees are blocking my nice view. They have grown 15 feet taller over the last 4 years.
I cut one of the pine trees down to see how well the electric chain saw would cut. It did very well with a single tree. It will require regular chain adjustments if I go after the whole hill.

I could see this in 2004, looking west:

I miss the sunsets...

Election Day

I guess election day is supposed to be special - so why not start a blog of sorts?
My experience at the poll just up the street (lucky me) was an easy going 20 minute breeze. Most citizens of Pelham, Alabama have last names that start with letters D-K. If this wasn't the case, I would have been out in half the time.
I hope everyone finds the time to get out and vote.
When I have time - and hopefully It will be enough to contribute a little of it here - I will learn how to embed video and photos.
I should learn to be interesting too..

When I first read the following quote, I realized that the idea is what I am about.

Under the law of nature, all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own will. This is what is called personal liberty, and is given him by the Author of nature, because necessary for his own sustenance.
--Thomas Jefferson: Legal Argument, 1770. FE 1:376

Good place to start....
